Real and relaxed documentary wedding photography, capturing timeless moments as they happen
Chris Grundy
Hi, I’m Chris Grundy, a Sydney-based wedding photographer with over a decade of experience capturing celebrations across Australia and beyond. My approach is calm, relaxed, and documentary in style — intuitive and grounded in trust. I want my couples to stay present and enjoy the day while I quietly document the moments that matter.
Weddings are full of emotion, movement and meaning, and I aim to capture it all as it naturally unfolds — from the big moments to the subtle gestures, without staging or disrupting the rhythm of the day.
The result is a collection of honest, timeless images that reflect not just how the day looked, but how it felt.

I’m based in Sydney, but I love travelling, meeting new people, and discovering (or revisiting) new places. I’m always keen to explore somewhere new or return to a spot that’s special to you.

I love destination weddings and regularly travel for work. Travel and accommodation costs for weddings outside of Sydney aren’t included in my standard packages, as every celebration is unique. I’ll always provide a clear, upfront quote, and unless we agree otherwise, I’ll take care of all travel and accommodation bookings myself.

Absolutely! I love doing this. It’s a great chance to get to know each other and chat through your plans in more detail. Once you’ve locked in your date, I’m always up for catching up over a coffee or a drink. We can do this early on or a bit further down the track once you’re deeper into planning, whatever works best for you.

Absolutely, yes. Love is love, and I’m honoured to capture all kinds of couples and celebrations. Everyone is welcome here.

Big Yes!
35mm film is how I got into photography. My dad gave me his old camera from the 80s, and what started as a bit of experimentation quickly turned into a deep curiosity and then an obsession. Shooting film taught me to slow down, pay attention, and really connect with what I was capturing. There’s a texture and emotion to 35mm that digital just doesn’t replicate. The grain, the tones, the imperfections. Film adds a timeless, honest quality to the images. I offer 35mm as an optional add-on for couples who want that nostalgic edge woven into their wedding story.

Yes! My first Super 8 camera belonged to my grandpa. I restored it years ago and that process got me hooked. The texture, the grain, the way it makes everything feel like a memory as it’s happening, that’s what drew me in. I’ve since replaced it, but that camera is what started it all.
There’s something honest about Super 8. It’s imperfect in all the right ways. Raw, nostalgic and full of character. If you’re thinking about including it in your wedding, I’d love to chat. I can also send you a link so you can see how it looks in action
